Be Holy Because God Is Holy. Monday, 08 June 2009 I know that you have probably heard the saying; "Be holy because I Am Holy". It is a commonly quoted scripture, one that you may have quoted yourself, but have you ever just sat down and thought over this verse. We are called to be holy simply because God is Holy.(1 Peter 1:13-16) God created us in His very image therefore it only stands to reason that we should be holy as He is holy. It sounds good, but have we really grasped what this verse is exhorting us to be.In my efforts to be an effective minister of the good news, which began more than 20 years ago, I have come to a point in my life where my main desire is to walk on the path of holiness. In hindsight, I clearly see the...

The Truth About The Big Bang Theory Monday, 20 April 2009 This article may not exactly be what you were thinking but it is the truth. Many may not want to admit this but that does not change anything, because it will still be the truth. Science was always my favorite subject in school because it tried to explain and make everything that we do not understand, understandable. I am now 42 years of age with the understanding that no matter how much we think we know, we do not know very much. The big bang theory was one of these attempts to explain our origins that clearly shows how little we actually do understand. The idea that the vast expanse of the universe came from a minuscule amount of dust and particles has always been a funny explanation to...

Why Does God Allow The Innocent To Suffer? Saturday, 07 March 2009 Why does God allow the innocent to suffer? If I had a nickel for each time I’ve heard this question I think I would be quite wealthy. At the very least it would be a steady stream of income. I'm also relatively sure that I myself have been guilty of wondering the very same in my early walk as a Christian. There are actually many that use this as their supposed evidence to the non-existence of God. Maybe you have even doubted God because of the many things that occur across the globe. What I would like to do, if you have a few moments to spare, is to offer some thoughts and ideas on this subject. Now I will not pretend to have the definitive answer on this matter but I will attempt to offer...

The Heart Of The Father. Monday, 23 February 2009 We have all heard the verses in the scriptures that encourage every believer to love our enemies, feed the hungry, respond to evil with good, turn the other cheek and so on. There are many of them and I'm relatively sure this would not be a point that anyone would argue. God Himself is the God of Love. He is absolutely amazing in His grace, mercy and love towards all of us. In fact He loves us so much that He allowed His only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ to die for us, taking our punishment for the wrongs that we have done. God loves every individual that He created even if the love is never returned. Now let me ask a question. How many of you have said any phrase like the following before? ...

Intimacy...A Must. Thursday, 05 February 2009 Throughout the Bible, our relationship with the Father is compared with a husband and wife relationship. Song of Solomon is entirely dedicated to the growing relationship between the king and the woman he is about to wed as an illustration of our relationship with Jesus and the Father. Why marriage? Because of all the relationship types in the bible this is the most intimate. In this type of relationship the two become one flesh. This is the type of relationship that our heavenly Father desires to have with his people. A relationship that is so close that we become one with him. Now hang on, I'm not talking about spiritualism where we all die and become a part of the higher cosmic being....

Worry And Fear OF The Future! Thursday, 05 February 2009 It is more than apparent that there are many that have become more cautious and frugal with their finances and in light of the economic crunch, I can't say that I blame them. With the change in presidency, and in the house and senate. With the new changes in legislation on the horizon. With thousands losing their jobs and large corporations, posting huge losses in profit. With banks and other financial institutions having to be bailed out. With warnings that the hardships of big buisness are going to be passed down to everyone. With the floodgates of sin getting ready to be thorwn open. What are we as citizens, consumers, families and individuals of faith supposed to feel? Are any...

Pushing The Limits Tuesday, 27 January 2009 If there is a beacon of democracy in the world today, it would be the United States Of America. I consider myself so fortunate to have been born here and to have the privileges and freedoms that this country provides. I am most proud of the fact that this country was conceived on Godly principles and morals. Now despite these facts, I know there are many things in our history that we should not be proud of, but this is not the result of our foundation, rather the result of the corruptible human condition. We are a country of people whom really like to push the limits. We take our freedoms to the limits and beyond what our forefathers originally intended. We have become a nation that...

Tested, Tried And True! Sunday, 11 January 2009 Life has a tendency to throw us many curve balls. There are family tensions, people that let you down or offend you, difficult, hard, and/or uncontrollable circumstances to name a few and I'm sure that you could come up with a few more. These things can leave us numb, down, and in a seemingly barren wilderness, which intern can leave us without the will or drive to continue on the path set before us. Many times the difference between failure and success is simply not continuing on the course after there is failure or drawbacks. Often there would have been success and breakthrough if we would have stayed the course just a little bit longer. Now, saying all of that, I realize that sometimes...

Are You A Bit Distracted? Sunday, 04 January 2009 All of us get a bit distracted sometimes, especially in a world that has so many things to pull and tug at our attention. The new year is not going to change this fact any at all. In all honesty, it will more than likely bring even more distractions and attention grabbers. Life is already hectic and busy, and all we need is to add a few more things to juggle. Now as for myself, I'm not one for the New Year's resolution hubbub. That's not to say I think it's wrong, but rather it's just not my thing. My family and I usually pray in the New Year and spend some time in worship and meditation. Also I do believe in having goals and plans in ones life, it's just that the time of year is irrelevant...

Seize By Force - Take Control. Monday, 01 December 2008 There are several scriptures in the Bible that tell us that God will fight for you (Exodus 14:14, Nehemiah 4:20), but is that the whole picture. A very sure way to get yourself in trouble is to take verses and run with them before you consider what the rest of the Bible has to say. Does the scripture mean that we can just sit back and relax because God will do all of the work? When we find ourselves in the midst of difficulties does it mean that we can just go home, sit down and wait for God to wisp it away? Let's take a minute and consider a few things. You will be hard pressed to find a Biblical character that just sat back and waited for God to do all of the work. In fact, you will find...
